Slain Anambra Lawmaker’s Abductors Withdrew N100 Million Before Killing Him, Activist Claims
Human rights activist and social media influencer, Chude Nnamdi, has alleged that the abductors of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, withdrew N100 million from his bank account before killing him. Nnamdi made this claim in a social media post on Friday.
According to Nnamdi, six kidnappers, aided by a nurse based in Asaba, Delta State, carried out the withdrawal. He further claimed that the kidnappers, their native doctor, and the nurse had all been arrested. Nnamdi stated that the group’s alleged leader resides with the native doctor in his shrine in Asaba.
Nnamdi’s post detailed the alleged confessions of the kidnappers, claiming they routinely kill their victims after receiving payment. He also alleged that the bodies of at least three other victims were discovered alongside Hon. Azuka’s at the 2nd Niger Bridge.
Nnamdi’s post read, in part: “The kidnappers that killed Hon. Justice Azuka collected N100 million from his account before killing him on 26th December 2024…A nurse that lives in Asaba helped them to withdraw the N100 million…All the six boys have been arrested…The native doctor has been arrested.”
However, these claims have not been independently verified. An attempt to reach Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, for comment was unsuccessful.
